Gun Control Contribution

He was coming undone , that much is clear. Sometimes surly, sometimes seemingly unhinged, he was unpredictable in a way that made fellow students community college class want to leave the room .

Jared Loughtner was a 22 year old college dropout who tried to assassinate Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona on Saturday morning. Did no one see this coming even after the way Jared was behaving in class, how did he ever get his hands on the Gun ?? . America as a country has never been able to protect its stringent rules for buying guns wherein in Switzerland every male is supposed to own a gun and even though it may seem irrational gun crime is virtually non existent . In Jared's case it wasn't a case of Gee, no one saw this coming  but how is that possible even when the teachers were afraid of him ?? Maybe the more important factor is even if people saw it coming what would they do about it or who do they call ? The whole thing speaks to the need for some coordinated way to detect such threats .

Even after a massacre in 2007 at Virginia Tech educational institutions and offices are seldom set up to handle such potential threats even when the warning signs are blatant and numerous which which was building up before the shoot out in Tuscan . The American Gun control system would be better off replicating Switzerland as it has come out as one of the most advanced nations in hand gun laws.  In states like Arizona where you don't  need to possess a license to buy a gun it only goes to show that frivolity does exist in the mind of the judicial system which should be in fact rampant at controlling Gun Sales.


 In the days leading to the shoot out Loughtner was acting even more bizarre that the faculty and students believed he was mentally ill or on drugs, there were a series of disruptions in the classroom in which he unnerved the professors  and fellow students, including one occasion when he insisted the number 6 actually was number 18 . Many students have described him as a person with a very dark personality. When he was suspended from college he made a bizarre video and posted it on you tube linking the college to genocide and the torture of students.

I am delving into the characteristics of  Loughtner because it is unbelievable that in a state like Arizona no one needs a license to buy a weapon and still there has been no extra precaution taken when it comes to Gun Control Laws . Any government with the right mind would have made a certain set of laws to be followed but they haven't really gone through it leaving many a loopholes in the system has made it possible for mentally deranged people to also possess weapons of destruction.

The direction of any country doesn't depend only on its external affairs policy or its central governing system,  what matters more is also the policies that should be  molded for the security of its citizens which in this case America has been most short sighted of !

Secrets of the Universe !

We reached the trilokpur temple at around 8 in the evening and were disappointed that the aarti on the banks of river baner khud was over,  little did we know that what awaited us that night was a scene so surreal  that when  time came to reflect and think I was  beatified . The temple was located in the midst of the mountains in mcleodganj and the river khud was passing right next to it which made the temple so aesthetically pleasing that I was so sure I died on the way here and now my karma has directed me to heaven   , the river supposedly  has  a lot of healing powers as it flows through the many many medicinal plants which grow in the Himalayas;  After the last ritual of the day we were invited for some chai to the maha rishis hut and we gathered around his aarti and sat in a circle. The hut was built in the middle of the mountain were the temple was  and the air was so clean that I was positive it was nectar in the air. Conversing with these wise men was like I was living in a different age altogether. We spoke about subjects  like the Hindu  Gods to modern technology, what most moved me was the maha rishis comparison of ancient times and modern age . He mentioned  how the gods used to dance for it to rain and now days Hema Malini was dancing for people who demeanignly watch her on the television.  the Rishis then had a hearty smile when  mocking me about my Cell phone for which he   mentioned that he did  not need one because of his telepathic powers.  Sitting there with them at that point of time made me feel like all the transgressions on the planet will be lost if everyone learned that wealth is not as merely as important as wisdom and knowledge. The rishis constantly  pointed out that only with wisdom can we attain the ultimate state of nothingness , of feeling one with the universe, of attaining salvation  I could almost see a state of bliss on his face when he uttered the word ‘salvation’  as if he was so  close to finding the answers to all the complex conundrums this world has to offer but yet still he was not able to unearth  the final conclusion .

We left the temple with a heavy heart and a heavier soul. As for me what was important at that moment was feeling blissful about being alive to experience all the mysteries that our universe has to offer more over  to comprehend the fact that finding answers to your questions in life is not a easy task and as we grow older and wiser we will be  inundated with a lot more of these complex thoughts and questions but the important thing is that we continue searching !

Enlightenment

Tantra is the universal way of life, connecting mind,body & soul into living life as a whole. Schisms of Good & Evil, Pure & Impure , Yin & Yang, Matter & Spirit are done away with as unnecessary barriers to a direct experience of our consciousness. It is the spiritual practices & form of worship which aim at liberation from rebirth.  With great Finesse Tantra uses material reality for spiritual unfoldment but still  in Urban India it is mostly connected with frivolity because of horrific news  reports of criminal activities like human sacrifice , rape & murder by so called  Tantriks etc , as are old wives tales of  black magic where the villian is invariably an evil  tantrik. 
Bollywood films and TV serials that portray tantriks as bizarre, crazy and villainous have reinforced this negative image. So that to a lot of us, Tantra feels like a cross between voodoo, the occult, and sorcery—bad stuff done by evil people.
 Our Western counterparts who follow eastern spiritualism have a different association with tantra and nine times out of ten it will be connected to Sex . When you type tantra in google most of the websites that come up offer 'sacred sex' or there are pictures of couples having sex in acrobatic positions. So what is tantra really ? What best describes its practices sex or sorcery ? Since reality is never black or white but a synthesis of the two there are several shades of tantra that belie a narrow view.
